**Highway Design Engineering Analyst**

**Job Description**
Kennedy Consulting, Inc. (KCI), A JMT Company, has an immediate need for a Highway Design Engineering Analyst. The successful candidate will be part of a design team that is engineering a variety of transportation projects including advanced planning and schematic design, as well as preparing plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E).
**Responsibilities Include**
+ Designing production of transportation projects in accordance with good engineering practice
+ Calculating quantity estimates, developing horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-section development, drainage design, working with digital terrain models, and designing traffic control plans
+ Coordinating and scheduling work to meet project goals on time and budget
+ Coordinating with engineering design staff and other disciplines to meet project objectives
**Required Skills**
+ Candidates must be capable of working on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team oriented environment
+ Ability to write, speak, and communicate clearly in English is a must
+ Strong time management and ability to prioritize
+ Working knowledge of Microstation and Geopak is preferred
+ Working knowledge of hydraulics/hydrology design/analysis a plus
+ Familiarity with the following software a plus: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SureTrak, Open Roads (3D) or other 3D modeling software
+ Candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office Software, including Word, Excel and Outlook
**Required Experience**
+ Bachelors of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited undergraduate engineering curriculum required
+ Engineer-In-Training certification preferred
+ Previous transportation experience (including internships) is preferred (Ideal candidate has between 0-4 years of related experience)
+ Previous work experience with TxDOT projects a plus
**Working Conditions**
Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
