We currently have a position open for a Human Resource Assistant at the Nursery location. The Human Resource Assistant provides administrative support ensuring effective, efficient and accurate accounting and administrative operations related to payroll and benefit administration. Assists in the maintenance of the accounting and human resource information systems and its integrity. Supports various tasks including, but not limited to new employee entry, timekeeping, earning and deduction code entry, maintenance of employee electronic records and generating various monthly reports. Qualified candidates will have: High School Diploma or equivalent AA or AAS in accounting, finance or business preferred 3 5 years experience in payroll administration and human resources support; benefit administration experience preferred Typical duties include: Screens time worked and inputs for calculating and coding while ensuring accuracy of data submitted. Performs actions necessary to determine pay and deductions including Federal and State taxes, insurance, retirement, dues, savings and other deductions. Monitors computer reports for problems or errors and alerts responsible parties and/or corrects errors. Reconciles errors and maintains payroll records. Records data concerning transfer of employees between departments. Reviews employee records to determine names, rates of pay and occupations of newly hired workers and changes in wage rates and occupations of employee on payroll; including tracking and monitoring of Commercial Driver License s and related physical examinations. Records new or changed pay rates in payroll register or computer files. Compiles payroll data, enters data or computes and posts wages and reconciling errors to maintain payroll records. Records new hire information, changes affecting net wages, such as exemptions, insurance coverage and load payments for each employee to update master payroll records; including entry in National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) database. Coordinates Family Medical Leave Requests and monitors, tracks and reports hours utilized. Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned. Working conditions: May frequently be required to walk; stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, photocopier, file cabinets, and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, ability to reach and bend, and use 2-step stool while safely lifting and lowering boxes. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
